Probate & Estate Administration
The probate and estate administration process can be difficult, particularly after the loss of a family member or loved one. We guide executors, trustees and beneficiaries of estates, both large and small, through all the necessary steps in the process, with attention to detail and efficiency. We also advise fiduciaries and beneficiaries when disputes arise.
As part of the firm's probate and estate administration work, we:
- Probate wills, or apply for Letters of Administration, in the absence of a will
- Advise executors, administrators, trustees, and beneficiaries through every step of the estate or trust administration process
- Prepare inventories, accountings and other required documents for filing with the Surrogate's Court
- Provide advice with regard to fiduciary duties and liability
- Plan and administer for estate tax and fiduciary income tax savings
- Review and defend estate and fiduciary income tax returns
- Resolve disputes in the administration of trusts and estates
